Conceptual Description

Divine Comedy Digital is a new version of Dantes' Divine Comedy . A version that reflects our profane digital era. We are examining the values of our time and people. We are also studying the changes of meaning of words and concepts. What is ment by sin now, or punishment.

Divine Comedy Digital is done by two Finnish artists: Aarre Kärkkäinen & Hilkka Okkonen.

We have done already before several art cd-roms that are noticed in Finland and also in some international media festivals. Divine Comedy Digital was chosen for Transmediale 99, that is part of International Film Festivals in Berlin. It is the first Finnish Art cd-rom accepted to Transmediale ever. Our earlier cd-oms were chosen forAnnual Exhibitions of The Finnish Artists Association 98 and 97. The names of the other cd-roms are: First Finnish Underground Art, Love Is A ManySplendoured Thing, Flux Aura, Psyche and Spoon River Virtual.
